Daniel Johnston has teamed up with Austin, Texas’ No-Comply Skateshop for a new Vans collection to celebrate No-Comply’s 12 year anniversary. The collection consists of a Vans Era Pro and a Vans Slip-On Pro designed by the the visual artist/singer-songwriter. Built on a white canvas, both silhouettes feature Johnston’s distinct doodles from his classic albums, Songs of Pain and Don’t Be Scared. While the Era’s midfoot, heel, and tongue are decorated with the illustrations, the Slip-Ons maintain a cleaner finish with patterns placed only on the wear guard and heel. Both versions are rounded out with No-Comply’s logo tag on the heel. In addition to the shoes, each pair comes with a custom tote bag, bandanna, guitar pick, and koozie. This collection is limited to just 320 pairs, which will become available on March 13th exclusively at No_Comply Skateshop. All proceeds from the exclusive collection will be donated to the Hi, How Are You Project and its purpose to create a mainstream dialogue regarding mental health in today’s society.
